چکیده

A 12-lead ECG was obtained from a 59-year-old man experiencing chest pain on his first postoperative day following a triple-vessel coronary artery bypass graft (CABG). Is this a single-lead ischaemia? (Fig. 1). The ST-segment elevation in V6 does not represent ischaemia. In fact, lead V6 was inadvertently connected to an epicardial pacing wire, recording a unipolar signal (Fig. 2). www.elsevier.com/locate/ejcts European Journal of Cardio-thoracic Surgery 37 (2010) 233

Comparison of usefulness of computer assisted continuous 48-h 3-lead with 12-lead ECG ischaemia monitoring for detection and quantitation of ischaemia in patients with unstable angina.

AIMS The selection of ECG leads used for ST monitoring may influence detection and quantitation of ischaemia. METHODS We compared on-line continuous 48-h 12-lead against 3-lead ST monitoring in 130 unstable angina patients (Mortara. ELI-100). Onset and offset of ST episodes were defined by the lead with the first > or = 100 microV ST change relative to baseline and the lead with the latest re...

Clinical electrocardiographic studies of bifid T waves.

In 129 electrocardiograms from 129 patients showing bifid T waves as well as U waves the intervals from the beginning of the QRS complex to the two T wave apices (QaT1, QaT2), to the end of the T wave (QeT), and to the apex of the U wave (QaU) were measured. Eighty additional electrocardiograms from matched control subjects showing single peaked T waves were also studied. The precordial distrib...

Changes in ischaemia as assessed with single-photon emission computed tomography myocardial perfusion imaging in high-risk patients with diabetes without cardiac symptoms: relation with coronary atherosclerosis on computed tomography coronary angiography.

AIMS The study aims (i) to evaluate changes in myocardial ischaemia on single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) after 2 years in a cohort of high-risk patients with diabetes without cardiac symptoms or known coronary artery disease (CAD) and (ii) to assess the value of baseline computed tomography coronary angiography (CTA)-derived coronary atheroscl...

Ischaemic colitis in the experimental animal. II. Role of hypovolaemia in the production of the disease.

Hypovolaemia alone did not lead to ischaemic colitis but when venesection was induced immediately after the acute ligation of the common colic artery large bowel ischaemia ensued. Similarly, hypovolaemia induced one month after two major blood vessels had been occluded led to ischaemic colitis. These findings suggest that states of low blood flow in the presence of previous arterial constrictio...

NT-proBNP and the diagnosis of exercise-induced myocardial ischaemia

BACKGROUND Amino terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) is a sensitive marker of ventricular dysfunction. Exercise causes an increase in the secretion of NTproBNP, and with myocardial ischaemia the increase is more pronounced. This increase has been found to improve the diagnostic sensitivity of the stress ECG in diagnosing myocardial ischaemia in subjects with normal ventricular f...
